This braking resistor is an option for variable speed drives of Altivar range. It has an Ohmic value of 5Ohms at 20°C. This braking resistor allows your variable speed drive to operate while braking to a standstill, by dissipating the braking energy and enables maximum transient braking torque. Its protection index is IP23. It weighs 126kg. This resistor is designed to be mounted on the outside of the enclosure, but should not inhibit natural cooling, air inlets and outlets must not be obstructed in any way.
